Darwi Media respects intellectual property rights and expects users to do the same. We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512.
Our content and images
We write our own content, link to sources, and use images we create, license or that are available under permissive licenses (with attribution where required). Short quotations from studies and press releases are used with attribution for news reporting and commentary.
Filing an infringement notice
If you believe content on darwi.org infringes your copyright, send a written notice including:
- Your physical or electronic signature;
- Identification of the copyrighted work;
- The URL(s) of the material you claim is infringing;
- Your name, address, phone number and email;
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law;
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.
Where to send notices: email admin@darwi.org with the subject "DMCA Notice." If you need to send a notice by mail, email us first at admin@darwi.org for our mailing address.
Counter-notice
If your material was removed and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to admin@darwi.org (subject "DMCA Counter-Notice") with: your signature; identification of the removed material and its former location; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake; your name, address and phone; and consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if outside the US, any district where Darwi may be found) and to accept service from the complainant. We may restore the material in 10–14 business days unless the complainant notifies us of a court action.
Repeat infringers
We may remove content and block users who repeatedly infringe.
Misrepresentation
Knowingly false notices or counter-notices may lead to liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
