Sources

  • Every story links at least one primary source: a peer-reviewed paper, a trial registry entry, a regulator notice or a company release.
  • Preprints are labeled "not yet peer reviewed".
  • Company releases are labeled as such and checked against registries such as ClinicalTrials.gov where possible.

How we check claims

We report what a study showed, in whom (cells, animals or people), how many people, and what phase. We do not present early results as proven.

Language

We avoid hype and superlatives. When evidence is uncertain, we say so.

Corrections

Found an error? Email admin@darwi.org. We fix confirmed errors and add a dated correction note to the story. Read our full Corrections Policy.

AI assistance

We may use AI tools to help research or draft. A person checks every story against its source before publication.

Images and illustrations made with AI are labeled as AI-generated in the caption or alt text. We do not present AI images as real photos of people, patients, labs or events.

Independence

Sponsors and affiliate partners do not review or approve editorial content. Paid content is labeled Sponsored. See our Sponsorship & Advertising Policy and Affiliate Disclosure.

Conflicts of interest

Writers and editors must disclose any financial interest, such as owning stock, consulting or employment, in a company they cover. They do not cover companies where the conflict is material, or the conflict is disclosed in the story.

Images

We use images we create, license or that carry permissive licenses, with credit where required. AI-generated images are labeled.

Keeping explainers current

Science changes. We review our evergreen explainers and topic guides regularly and when major new evidence or a regulatory decision appears, and we show the date a page was last updated or reviewed.

Retracted studies

If a study we covered is retracted or found seriously flawed, we update the story and say so clearly at the top.

Privacy of Patient Zero

Patient Zero writes anonymously. We do not publish information that could identify him, and personal health data appears only with his written permission for that item.

No medical review

Darwi stories are not reviewed by a clinician. They are based on cited, published sources such as journals, regulators and public health agencies, and are for news and education only, not medical advice.
